CAIRO (Somaliguardian) – Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his government will not accept Israel’s decision to recognise Somaliland, a move he said violates Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Speaking in Egypt on Wednesday, Mr Erdogan said any steps taken in the future concerning Somalia and its northern region of Somaliland must reflect the will of all Somalis.
He added that decisions affecting the status of Somaliland should be handled in a manner that respects Somalia’s unity and the collective wishes of its people.
