Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Mortar shells landed on the security perimeters of Somalia’s presidential palace in Mogadishu on Monday evening, hours after the United States warned of terrorist threats to multiple locations in the city, including Adan Adde International Airport.

At least three rounds of mortar bombs struck areas in Wardhigley district in Mogadishu’s green-zone, but casualties have not been immediately known.

Security officials have not yet commented on the attack which comes days after authorities announced that they would resume stalled offensive against insurgents in central Somalia.
