MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somali opposition leader and MP Abdirahman Abdishakur said on Wednesday that President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s recent warning about late-night raids on the homes of individuals in possession of illegal weapons should be taken seriously and poses significant risks.
“The president’s threat messages delivered from the mosque, warning of late-night home raids, present their own set of dangers,” Abdishakur said.
“Abuse of power, infringement on citizens’ rights, intimidation, coercion, and dictatorial practices were key factors in the government’s collapse and remain barriers to its recovery,” he added.
