MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced on Friday that it had killed 12 Al-Shabaab militants in an airstrike targeting a house in Adan Yabal, a town the insurgents seized in April.
NISA released a video purportedly showing the attack, in which two to three people are seen inside the building before a missile strike ignites the structure. The agency did not provide evidence of the death toll.
The casualty figures could not be independently verified. NISA stated that the operation was conducted with one of Somalia’s international partners, likely Turkey, which frequently shares airstrike footage with Somali authorities for public release.
