MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – US ambassador to Somalia Richard H. Riley on Thursday arrived in the capital of the breakaway region of Somaliland, Hargeisa to encourage dialogue and regional security, US embassy in Mogadishu said in a statement.
“Ambassador Riley reiterated the United States’ long-standing commitment to supporting prosperity and democratic institutions in the region,” the statement reads.
“He encouraged regional cooperation and dialogue to resolve diplomatic and security challenges and discussed with government officials the importance of adhering to election timelines.”
