UN-chartered aircraft safely lands in Mogadishu after nose gear failure

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A United Nations-chartered plane carrying 22 passengers made an emergency landing at Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport on Tuesday after its front landing gear malfunctioned during approach, Somalia’s Civil Aviation Authority said.

Despite the critical failure, all aboard the flight—which had departed from Baidoa in the country’s Southwest State—escaped unscathed, averting a potential disaster.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene as the aircraft touched down under heightened safety protocols, with no injuries or significant damage reported.
